Memoryter exists to keep one family’s stories. This page says plainly what we hold, who can see it, and how you take it back. Last updated 7 August 2026.

What we hold

Recordings of the conversations, their transcripts, the memories and chapters written from them, background research used to write those chapters, and the email address of everyone invited to the story. If you buy a story, our payment provider holds the payment record — card details never reach Memoryter.

Who can see it

Only the people invited to that story. The person who set it up (the curator) can see everything. The person telling the story sees their own sessions. Family members invited to read the book see the book. Nobody outside the story has access, and stories are never shared, sold, or shown to anyone else.

Who processes it

Google — for hosting, storage, and the AI that conducts the interview and writes the chapters. Resend — for the emails we send you. Stripe — for payment, if you buy a story. That is the whole list.

We do not train AI on your family

Your recordings, transcripts, and chapters are never used to train AI models — not ours, not anyone’s. They are processed to produce your story and nothing else.

Consent to record

The person who sets up a story confirms they have the storyteller’s permission to record the conversations. We record that confirmation with the story. The storyteller is told, on screen, that the conversation is being recorded.

Taking it back

Download everything at any time from your story’s page — every transcript, memory, and chapter, as one file, plus the recordings and the book. Delete a story from the same page. A deleted story disappears immediately and can be restored for 30 days; after that it is permanently deleted, within 30 days of the request. Deleting a story does not refund it, and starting a replacement requires a new purchase.
